1st Street Road Closure May 18-22
1st Street will be completely closed to all traffic from Illinois Street to Illinois Route 64 Monday, May 18, 2009 through Friday, May 22, 2009.
This is to accommodate road work for the St. Charles 1st Street Redevelopment project. The purpose for the road closure is to expedite the completion of the road reconstruction work so that 1st Street is completed and open to traffic by the Memorial Day weekend. All work is scheduled to be completed by May 22, 2009 weather permitting.

Main Street Lane Closure May 11-12 9am-3pm
There will be a lane closure on Eastbound Main Street between S Route 31 / 2nd Street to S 1st Avenue on Monday, May 11, 2009 through Tuesday May 12, 2009 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
This is to accommdate road work for the St. Charles 1st Street Redevelopment project. The purpose for the lane closure is to relocate an existing traffic signal mast arm and associated traffic signal infrastructure. All work is scheduled to be completed by 3:00 p.m. May 12, 2009 weather permitting.

On Monday, April 6, 2009, Alliance Contractors, Inc. (ACI) will completely close down 1st Street from Route 64 to the parking deck entrance off of 1st Street (Entrance to deck off of 1st Street will remain open during road construction) to begin Stage 5 construction work. more...

Public Invited to 1st Street Weekly Update Meetings
The 1st Street Weekly Update meetings are starting again this week. These weekly meetings are every Thursday at 8:00 a.m.and are held at the City Hall located at 2 E. Main St. The meetings will focus on the public utility improvements currently under construction, and always includes a brief review of what has been completed as well as an update on construction activities planned for the following week. The meetings also provide an opportunity for those who attend to ask questions and share comments regarding the project. All are welcome to attend.

First Street Closure October 13
On Monday, October 13, AT&T will close 1st Street between Main St./Route 64 and the temporary, one-way "drive" behind the 100 West Main Street businesses for one week to install an equipment vault in 1st Street.
